William Luke
My family has been preserving this land for the past 30+ years. I attended college for environmental science for a while but changed majors over to Network Engineering.
I am Native American (Little Traverse Bay Band/Gun Lake/Mackinac) and hope to make this site something native people can visit and be proud of. Much of the problem is that the sites are dug up and the artifacts are shown publicly, that will not be the case here. Archeologists will be able to do their work. We will likely want to identify the nature of the site. But I am not displaying any artifacts that were not found in the exploration process. The site is sacred to us, and it is my belief that it was used as a burial ground and place for vision quests. (Based on the book; Queen of the woods, by Simon Pokagon.)
